October 2026 has brought about $115 million into HR tech so far, across 7 disclosed deals. They cover corporate learning, employee benefits, frontline workforce operations, recruiting, performance and pay, and worker safety.

The largest deal is LearnUpon’s $50 million growth debt facility. The largest equity round is Avante’s $30 million Series A, followed by Firstwork’s $15 million Series A and Aatmunn’s growth investment of up to $8 million. That is well below September’s $565 million across 19 deals, which was driven by HiBob, Thatch and Metaview.

Two themes stand out. Frontline and deskless workers are the focus for Firstwork, Hunar.AI and Aatmunn. Regulation is also driving demand: Learned is building for Europe’s new pay-transparency rules, and Firstwork is automating right-to-work checks, background checks and other compliance work.

What October tells us

October’s 7 rounds cover much of the employee lifecycle: hiring with Jooba and Hunar.AI; onboarding and compliance with Firstwork; benefits with Avante; training with LearnUpon; performance and pay with Learned; and worker safety on industrial sites with Aatmunn.

The AI in these products now does the work itself instead of just assisting. Avante’s Ava Agents take on recurring benefits tasks and return finished work for the team to review. Firstwork’s agents contact candidates by text or phone, collect documents and run background and right-to-work checks. Hunar.AI’s voice agents call every applicant in their own language and screen them for role fit.

For HR leaders and HRIS buyers, these rounds suggest two things. Frontline workers, long underserved by HR software, are becoming a priority for investors. And compliance, from right-to-work checks to Europe’s pay-transparency rules, is a main reason companies are adopting AI agents.
