HrTech startup: Everday
Can you tell us about yourself and your role?
Hello, I am Estefania Hernandez, CEO and Co-founder of Everday.
When was Everday founded?
Everday was founded in July 2024.
Give us a brief introduction to Everday and its mission.
Everyday is a skill management platform designed to empower organizations to become skill-based, seamlessly aligning talent with business goals through AI-driven insights.
Everday simplifies how skills are mapped, tracked, and grown within teams, without complex manual data input.
With a mission to create work environments where every individual’s skills and potential are recognized, developed, and meaningfully utilized, Everday envisions a future of skill-based organizations that drive innovation, collaboration, and employee fulfillment.
What is Everday’s North Star metric?
Our North Star metric combines Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR) with the number of skills gaps closed across our client organizations.
This dual focus allows us to drive financial growth while fulfilling our mission to empower companies with skill-based decision-making, addressing critical skills gaps in real-time.
How did Everday get started, and what inspired its creation?
Everday was born from a shared vision between my co-founder Dylan and me, both of us were inspired to leverage technology for human advancement and helping individuals reach their full potential by uncovering hidden skills.
The current market challenges played a critical role in this vision: due to rapid technological advances, the half-life of skills was 10–15 years, and in 2024, it has been reduced to 2.5 years.
In January 2024, we began our problem discovery process. We interviewed over 160 leaders and members of the People departments to understand their biggest challenges.
We discovered that aligning workforce skills with strategic goals is an ongoing challenge for companies.
From this, we saw an opportunity to use AI to analyze, map, and provide actionable insights into the workforce—giving companies the tools they need to stay agile and forward-thinking.
What HR solutions does Everday offer, and how do you AI-power these solutions?
At Everday, we've flipped traditional skill management on its head with our AI-driven platform.
We didn't build “another HR tool”, we created a system that provides objective, data-driven insights into workforce capabilities.
The AI assigns skill levels based on real-world experience, education, and certifications, delivering transparency into each assessment.
We've taken it a step further by enabling AI-led skill interviews, where employees can discuss their skills directly with our AI.
Our Skill Assessments break down behavioral indicators for every skill level, giving organizations insights they didn't think were possible.
We made it happen, providing transparency, confidence, and actionable insights that transform how companies understand and develop their workforce.
Please provide key dates in your company's journey (e.g., founding date, product launches, major milestones).
- Founding Date: July 2024
- Product Launch: October 1, 2024
- Achievements: Acquired 16 launching customers across 10 countries
What is your strategic approach to AI technology? developing proprietary models in-house versus integrating external AI solutions?
I will let my co-founder, Dylan, as he can explain it better.
We're not married to any single AI model, we're all about flexibility and getting the best results.
We've combined in-house development with external open-source and third-party solutions to build our agents.
This approach lets us customize and fine-tune AI specifically for workforce management. And we're not stopping there—we're actively exploring the creation of specialized SLMs for particular tasks.
Our hybrid strategy keeps us agile and ensures we're always using the most effective tools at our disposal. We pick the best models for the job, plain and simple, to deliver optimal performance every time.
What were the biggest challenges in integrating AI into your products, and how did you address them? Buy vs Build?
AI isn't just a feature for us—it's the heart of our platform.
We chose to build our own AI systems because that's how we drive innovation and set ourselves apart.
Sure, we integrate third-party tools when they add value or unique data, but building our own AI keeps us future-focused and in control.
Our biggest hurdle was tackling subjective skill data that varies wildly across roles and industries.
So, we turned that challenge into an opportunity. We built our solution to always provide transparent reasoning behind every outcome.
If someone doesn't agree with our AI's assessment, they can chat directly with it and maybe even change its mind.
We made our AI more interactive and user-friendly, turning skepticism into trust.
How does your company ensure its AI systems are unbiased and ethical?
Unbiased and ethical AI isn't just a checkbox for us—it's a core value. We cut out all personal data—names, gender, age, ethnicity, origin—you name it.
Our AI zeroes in on experience and qualifications, nothing else. That means our assessments are based purely on skills and professional background, wiping out conscious and unconscious biases.
We're all about empowering people based on what they can do, not who they are.
This approach helps organizations build truly diverse and inclusive teams where merit leads the way. This transparency and fairness in AI help foster equitable workplaces where talent is recognized solely on its merit.
What feedback have you received from clients about your solution(s), and how has it shaped your product going forward?
We've built this platform together with the end users, from ideating, and shaping the first prototype, to building the first version, and we’re still working closely and improving our platform together.
These responses have shaped our platform’s continuous improvement, ensuring we address users’ needs with each iteration.
Can you share a success story or case study that highlights the impact of your technology on a client?
One of our first customers, The Last Mile—an association dedicated to providing personal and professional growth opportunities for justice-impacted individuals through education and technology training—is using our platform to analyze and map their internal team skills and uncover potential career paths.
Soon, they’ll extend this service to their 800+ members, enabling them to evaluate current skills, pinpoint gaps, and shape their future career trajectories.
What is your vision for the future of HR tech and AI? and what are your company's upcoming goals?
HR operations are becoming fully autonomous through AI, enabling HR teams to shift their focus to strategic decisions and meaningful interactions with people.
We believe AI can handle the time-consuming manual work, allowing HR professionals to engage more directly with employees and drive company culture. And that’s exactly what we’re enabling by developing AI-driven tools that streamline performance reviews, succession planning, feedback cycles, talent mobility, and personalized learning paths.
By reducing manual workloads, we’re giving HR professionals more time for impactful engagements, contributing to a more efficient and people-focused workplace.
What key milestones has your company achieved so far? (e.g., funding rounds, partnerships, customer acquisition)
We’re currently raising our pre-seed funding round, having already secured $300,000 from Builders Studio.
This funding will accelerate our product development efforts and boost our sales process.
Please provide relevant financial data and KPIs (e.g. growth rate, ROI).
Since launching on October 1, our financial metrics are still in early stages, but we’re focused on delivering measurable results aligned with our ARR and skills gap closure goals.
